A range of further micro-indicators are extractable from Call Data Records (CDRs). Such records provide insight into communication, mobility, and financial transaction patterns, via sms, call, and mobile money logs. Some specific examples of potential information that can be obtained from CDRs include population mobility, which correlates with poverty and unemployment, spending logs for mobile payments, and cell activity around transport hubs reflecting manufacturing and tourism. While our team has examined the efficacy of such an approach previously in context similar to this project, we currently do not have data for the zones of interest. This indicator would likely require resources to properly collect and analyze the data, so it might be more amenable to zones that are of particular importance.
